Itinerary

Day 1&2 Kabalega Resort Hotel, for Murchison Falls & chimp tracking

From Kampala, and after a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, make our way to the Murchison Falls National Park. Also referred to as the Kabaraga Falls, this waterfall found on the course of the great Nile and located within the Murchison National Park and our base for 2nights. Budongo Forest is the largest mahogany forest in East Africa and home to chimp families, the focal point of our stay here. A guided chimp trek through the forest takes us in search of these lively and noisy primates – they may be spotted swinging through the trees or perhaps foraging or resting on the forest floor. A boat cruise along the river and a game drive in Murchison Falls National Park is also included to spot some of the game found here.

Day 3 Simba Safari Camp, Northern Queen Elizabeth National Park

We make our way to the border of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where tonight are views look across Lake Kikorongo

Day 4–6 Lake Bunyonyi Overland Resort – Gorilla tracking

Onward to Lake Bunyonyi and our time here will be flexible as the main highlight of our time here is tracking endangered mountain gorillas – not only is this a world–class wildlife activity, but the permit fees go directly to their protection and conservation. A close–up encounter with one of these great primates will be unforgettable and it’s no surprise it’s on so many people’s bucket list.  During our stay there is the chance for optional activities including a visit to Nyombi Village, a Pygmy village reached by motor boat from Bunyonyi Resort and the opportunity to learn about the lives and culture of the Pygmies, join hikes, mountain bike excursions or relax
