Itinerary

Day 1&2 CHIMP TRACKING Kyanina Lodge, Kibale Forest National Park

From Entebbe, a flight will take you to Kasese where you’ll meet your guide and this incredible safari adventure begins transferring by road to your lodge and base for 2nights in Kibale Forest. Day 2 is spent tracking and following wild chimps in the forest, listen out for their raucous calls and watch as they jump through the tree canopy, or perhaps relax on the forest floor. The afternoon takes us to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a swamp land abundant with butterflies, birds, plants and animals – look out for elusive species including red colobus monkeys and sitatunga antelope

Day 3&4 CHIMP  TRACKING Kyambura Gorge Lodge, Queen Elizabeth National Park

After a stop at the Rwenzori Mountain Range and a short walk in the foothills of this World Heritage Site, where the forest bathes the lower slopes while higher up rugged mountains form part of the continents highest range, we continue to our destination. The following day you can track one of our closest animal relatives, the chimpanzee. The chimp population is quite mobile and viewing can be unpredictable but the walk itself is enchanting. In the afternoon take a cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which flows between Lake Edward and Lake George. Kazinga is home to one of the greatest concentrations of hippo in Africa and herds of elephant, buffalo and other animals come to drink at the water’s edge

Day 5&6 GORILLA TRACKING Bwindi Lodge, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

The journey today takes us to Bwindi Forest and one of Uganda’s highlights. Travelling via Ishasha, you may spot the famous tree–climbing lions. The long journey through the rapidly changing landscape leads us to Bwindi Lodge, overlooking the towering trees of the forest – later you can take a self–guided walk or visit a local community. The following day brings you to the highlight of this safari and tracking mountain gorillas, after a briefing, you’ll track these incredible primates through the jungle and spend 1 unforgettable hour with them – a real “experience of a lifetime”.
