Safari Itinerary

Day 1 Chameleon Backpackers Guesthouse, Windhoek
Upon arrival in Windhoek, collect your vehicle and drive to Chameleon Guesthouse. Here, you’ll meet a tour consultant who will go through your travel plans and answer any last minute questions. Depending on your arrival time you may choose to wander into the city centre, join an optional township tour, horse ride, or even head out for a birding trip.

Day 2-3 Sesriem Campsite, Sossusvlei
After breakfast start your adventure and your first drive will take you to Sesriem, the main campsite and entry to the famous sand dunes of Sossusvlei. Visit nearby Elim’s Dune for sunset, watching as the sun dips behind the dunes, and the mountains opposite change to beautiful purple colours. At this time the barking geckos start their call echoing around the desert. The following day rise early to venture into the dune field, exploring Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei - famous for its' skeleton-like trees, white-clay pan, set against the apricot dunes

Day 4-6 A La Mer Hotel, Swakopmund
Depart after breakfast and stop at Solitaire to enjoy a slice of Moose’s famous apple pie, before continuing to the port town of Walvis Bay. Perhaps visit the lagoon, a protected RAMSAR wetland site then continue your drive to the quaint town of Swakopmund, full of historic buildings. The next couple of days there is the chance to enjoy optional adventure activities such as quad biking, sand boarding, kayaking, skydiving and, as well as marine cruises, day trips to Sandwich Harbour and stunning scenic flights.

Day 7-8 Hoada Camp site, Damaraland
This morning drive north along the Skeleton Coast, taking in the seal colony at Cape Cross, shipwrecks and enter the Skeleton Park to see remains of old diamond and oil mines as you skirt the coast. Continue to the dramatic landscape of Damaraland where you can join optional activities such as elephant tracking, visiting local Damara communities, as well as scenic drives and walks

Day 9-10 Okaukuejo Campsite, Etosha National Park
Onward to Etosha, one of the best game reserves in Southern Africa and home to many species of game including lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, hyena, giraffe, and many types of antelope including the endemic black faced impala. Overnight camping inside the park for two nights and each rest camp has its own swimming pool, floodlit waterhole, shop, restaurant and bar. Enjoy game drives during your stay

Day 11 Frans Indongo Campsite, Waterberg Region
Today drive towards Otjiwarongo to overnight at Frans Indongo Lodge, situated on a private reserve, here you can join an optional game drive to see unusual species such as black and white rhino, black springbok, roan, blesbok and the rare nyala. The lodge is ideally located to visit the nearby CCF - the Cheetah Conservation Fund and recommend a visit to the educational centre and museum, their programme is an innovative one, not only do they educate the local farmers and villagers but train dogs to protect the livestock from the cheetahs ensuring that both survive.

Day 12 Erindi Camp Elephant, Central Namibia
Erindi is one of the largest privaate game reserves in Southern Africa and home to a wealth of animals. Join game drives, night drives as well as the chance for activities such as telemetry tracking, leopard project experiences, Bushman visits and much more...

Day 13 Departure
Continue your way back to Windhoek, perhaps stop at Okahandja, for some last minute souvenir shopping at the craft markets where you can barter some gifts before returning to Windhoek International Airport and connect with your onward flight back home. No flights prior to late afternoon. End of services.
