Safari Itinerary

Day 1&2 Sesriem / Namib Naukluft area
You'll be collected from your accommodation by your guide and depart from Windhoek at around 08h30am. Later this afternoon walk to Elim's Dune for sunset watching the colours change over the nearby mountains. It's a predawn departure from Sesriem the following morning to drive into the heart of the dunes and explore Sossusvlei witnessing first light. The shadows on the sand dunes as the sun liffs over the apricot dunes in the heart of the famous dune sea of Namibia, is nothing short of spectacular. We can climb a dune close to Sossusvlei then walk to Dead Vlei with its large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees, contrasting with a backdrop of huge orange-red dunes. Enjoy another stunning sunset surrounded by this colourful desert and sleep under the bright stars of the southern hemisphere.

Day 3&4 Swakopmund Sands Hotel, Swakopmund
Morning departure from Sesriem, stopping at the quaint hamlet of Solitaire before continuing through the desert with its endless views across the pastel-coloured gravel plains to the port town of Walvis Bay. We visit the lagoon, a protected RAMSAR wetland site where we may see the many species of birds including greater and lesser flamingos, pelicans, avocets, plovers ans the endemic Damara tern before a short at the salt farm. From here continue onto Swakopmund, full of historic buildings and where your guide will assit those wishing to book optional adventure activities such as sand boarding, quad biking, scenic flights, kayaking, marine cruises to name a few, which you have time for this afternoon and tomorrow. Alternatively walk along the beach or visit the museum and aquarium, enjoy coffee and cake at one or many cafes or wander along the beach listening to the roar of the waves of the mighty Atlantic Ocean - the choice is yours.

Day 5 Twyfelfontein, Damaraland
We leave after breakfast and head north along the Skeleton Coast past the gravel plains and desert opening up around us with the ocean crashing down onto the shore, stopping south of Henties Bay to view a shipwreck near the shore before continuing onto Cape Cross. This is home of thousands of Cape fur seals where during breeding season over 100,000 are crammed onto the beach flighting for space. We retrace our steps to Henties Bay and turn inland driving past Brandberg, the highest point in Namibia and huge massif rising up over the plains to Twyfelfontein and later this afternoon visit to the rock etchings with a local guide who will explain the history and importance of these etchings is included.

Day 6-9 Etosha National Park
Day 6 Dolomite Camp
Day 7-9 Okaukuejo / Halali

Today's destination in the incredible Etosha National Park and we spend 4 nights in the park to maximize our game viewing experiences. The first day enter at Galton Gate in the western aspect at Dolomite Camp, a beautiful camp in a superb location and a night in accommodation, here there's the chance of spotting animals such as baboon, mountain zebra and other species not found further east. From here, game drive across the park to famous Okaukuejo - world renowned for its active floodlit waterhole. Relax here at sunset and watch the game wander in to drink. The following days search for black rhino, elephant, lion, hyena and leopard. Etosha is recognised as one of the best game parks in Southern Africa with huge numbers of plains game, lion, prides and large elephant herds as well as the diminutive and cute Damara dik-dik - the smallest antelope in the world.

Day 10 Onguma Camp, Onguma Private Game Reserve
Game drive across Etosha leaving from Von Lindequist Gate; turn immidiately into Onguma Private Game Reserve, adjacent to Fischers Pan on the eastern aspect of the park. This terrific reserve offers great game viewing and you have the choice of either joining a guided nature walk on the reserve or sundowner excursion in an open vehicle with a guide from the lodge. (Note the walk may take place the following morning).

Day 11 Okonjima Plains Camp
Afrer a final game drive to the gate, head south for a final night at Okonjima, situated halfway between the capital Windhoek and Etosha National Park, the 55,000 acre Okonjima Game Reserve for many guests is a highlight to the holiday. This afternoon choose which activity suits your interests best (this is discussed upon arrival so you don't need to worry about which one to join before arrive) - and where you have the chance to see rehabilitated cheetah, wild dog, hyena, or leapard and see these beautiful carnivores in their natural habitat. Generally regarded as one of Namibia's premier destinations
