Safari Itinerary

Day 1-2 Wolwedans Dunes Lodge, Namib
Your guide will collect you after breakfast from your accommodation for a long but stunning drive through the desert to Wolwedans our base on a fully inclusive basis for 2 nights. Here, join activities with the lodge to explore this spectacular area of desert on a private reserve.

Day 3-4 Kulala Desert Lodge, Sossusvei
It's a short drive of around 1-1.5hours to Kulala Desert Lodge, stituated approximately 30km from Sesriem on a 7,000ha property; the camp has wonderful desert scenery and offers close access to Sossusvlei as well privacy and exclusivity. This afternoon you can relax enjoying the views or join guided activity on the private reserve for sunset. The following day rise early to venture into the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Namib Naukluft Sand Sea to explore this unique region entering the national park via a private gate (only accessible to guests on guided excursions from the Kulala reserve); once in the dunes learn about the desert and how the plants and animals survive in this harsh environment. Perhaps climb a dune and view the endless sand sea from the vantage point!

Day 5-6 Strand Hotel Swakopmund, Swakopmund
This morning perhaps choose to join an optional activity such as hot air ballooning, when you'll be collected and driven to the take off point and at sunrise take off for an hour's flight, who knows where the wind might take you - possibly along the mountain range or over the sand dune sea. After landing enjoy a delicious champagne breakfast before being dropped off at the lodge. From here we drive north crossing the Kuiseb Canyon and onward through the desert with its endless vistas across the plains where we have a short break at Walvis Bay to visit the lagoon. This is a protected RAMSAR site where birds such as flamingos, pelicans and the endemic Damara tern can be seen. Swakopmund is a bustling little place and the main coastal town in Namibia. The architecture is interesting - many of the houses and buildings are of a colonial style and offer a good selection of shops, restaurants, and cafes. Enjou a free day - you can choose if you wish to take park in one of the many optional activities, such as a day trip to Sandwich Harbour, scenic flights, desert tours, or for the more adventurous - tandem skydiving, sand boarding, or quad biking. Perhaps enjoy a marine cruise or fishing trip, the choise is extensive. You may just choose to visit the museums or wander along the beach.

Day 7-8 Mowani Mountain Camp, Damaraland
This morning we depart from Swakopmund, driving north along part of the Skeleton Coast stopping just before Henties Bay to view a shipwreck close to the beach, ensuring that that Skeleton Coast lives up to its name! From here continue to Cape Cross seal colony, where thousands of seals congregate on the beach particularly during breeding season. We continue onto Damaraland and Mowani Mountain Camp. This wonderful camp is set between the Ugab and Huab Rivers in a vast and upspoilt wilderness area of desert, unique geological formations and amazing flora and fauna. During our stay we visit Twyfelfontein taking a local guide to visit one of the largest rock etching collections in Southern Africa, we'll enjoy stunning sundowner on one of the Kopjies overlooking this vast landscape, and you can also join an optional activity with lodge such as tracking deset elephant on their Nature Drive.

Day 9-10 Desert Rhino Camp, Damaraland
Depart Mowani and head to Palmwag Lodge / Twee Palms, from here transfer into the heart of the concession region location for 2 nights on a fully inclusive basis and where we will search for the endangered black rhino that roam freely in the desolate desert region.

Day 11 Ongava Lodge, Ongava Private Game Reserve
It's an early start as we leave the wonderful Damara landscapes behind us, but Etosha awaits! Ongava borders Etosha along this fence line and stay at Ongava Lodge for tonights. Highlights are the game drives reserve. If time permits this afternoon, our Chameleon guide will take us on a game drive in Etosha National Park (if you wish to join optional activity on the private reserve this will be at your own expense but is recommended).

Day 12-13 Onguma Tented Camp, Onguma Game Reserve
Today game drive across Etosha, stopping en route at some of the waterholes, We'll have lunch at Halali, and depart the park mid afternoon. Onguma is located just outsite the park boundary on a pravate reserve bordering Etosha and shares Fischers Pan. The following morning join a guided excursion into Etosha with Onguma in an open vehicle before returning to the lodg later in the morning, there is time to relax and if you wish, your guide will take you back into Etosha in the afternoon for further maximise your game viewing time.

Day 14 Okonjima Luxury Bush Camp - Okonjima Nature Reserve
We head south to Okonjima, home of the AfriCat Foundation and one of the most famous conservation programmes in Namibia. The AfriCat Foundation is based here and is devoted to the conservation of predators, specifically cheetah and leopard with the aim to ease the conflict that arises between humans and carnivores.

Day 15 Departure
After a huge brunch (or if time permits you may wish to join another optional activity) and from here return to Windhoek where you are dropped off at your accommodation or at the airport - no flights prior to mid afternoon (Brunch).
