11 Day Gem of Zambia Accommodated Safari

Zambia’s three stunning premier parks are all different but what they have in common is superb game–viewing experiences and still considered by many to be the "wild" heart of Africa. The lagoons and riverine woodland of the Luangwa, the escarpment and water experience of the Lower Zambezi, the miombo woodland and vast open plains of North Kafue are contrasting.  This safari runs as a "on–request" departure

Itinerary

Day 1&2 Nkwali Camp, South Luangwa

Your guide will meet you at Mfuwe Airport and from here drive via local villages to Nkwali Camp in South Luangwa, and where you spend the first two nights of this adventure.  Head out on daily activities to search for some of the excellent game viewing the area is renowned for, such as family elephant herds and the endemic Thornicroft giraffe. Enjoy early morning drives and beautiful sundowners

Day 3&4 Nsefu Camp, South Luangwa

From Nkwali,  game drive through the park and across the river to Nsufu sector, renowned for phenomenal game viewing, your camp was the first in Zambia and dates back to the early 50’s and is without doubt in a prime location. Each luxurious rondavel has a view of the river and you can enjoy game walks through ebony groves or game drives in the differing habitats.  There is also a change to visit a local community at Kawaza Village.  Naturally game viewing is often regarded as some of the best in the region as you search for elephant, hippo, lions along with plains game

Day 5–7  Chongwe River Camp, Lower Zambezi

In the morning fly to Lower Zambezi and spend the next 3nights exploring whether via game drives, night drives, or canoeing. This area is renowned for superb wildlife sightings and big game – from elephant, to hippo, buffalo and predators including lion – often seen close to camp.  Canoeing activities give a totally different insight to spotting game in this exceptional and undeveloped wildlife destination

Day 8–10 Busanga Bush Camp, Kafue National Park

After a final game drive, a flight will take you to the stunning Kafue, with its woodlands, rivers and expansive seasonal floodplains extending to the horizon, all of which supports an impressive array of animal and bird life.  Join game drives, night drives, boating and even specialist birding safaris as you head in search for a wealth of plains game including the rare roan antelope, predators such as the famous lions of Kafue, cheetah and wild dog, large mammals and nocturnal favourites – genets, civets and more.  With 491 bird species there is plenty to appreciate including the endemic Chaplin’s barbet

Day 11  Lusaka – end of services

After a final morning activity, you’ll be transferred to the airport and onward bound to Lusaka to connect with flight. End of services
