Day 6 Bagamoyo Travellers Lodge, Bagamoyo

Our journey today takes us south to the coastal town of Bagamoyo – we spend much of it travelling and as we pass bustling villages and beautiful scenic backdrops on this busy travel route. Formerly a centre point of the East African slave trade, Bagamoyo lies just north of the port of Dar es Salaam and is a perfect launching point for our upcoming Zanzibar Excursion. This evening we will prepare for our Zanzibar Excursion that begins tomorrow morning.

Day 7&8   Amaan Bungalows, Zanzibar Island

Heading to the port and hopping aboard a ferry, we journey to Nungwi on the northern shores of Zanzibar, visiting the spice farms of Kidichi and Kizambani en–route to our nights destination. The island is famous not only for its spices and fragrances, beautiful beaches, diving but also its history. You can join optional excursions for the following day and your guide will be on hand to assist. Nungwi is geared around water sports and offers fishing, snorkelling, scuba diving and a variety of ocean safari option, alternatively relax on the beach or perhaps rent a scooter and explore.

Day 9 Forodhani Park Hotel, Stone Town, Zanzibar

We travel to Stone Town, an area with a rich history, this bustling port was once a landmark on both the slave and spice trade routes, and enjoy a guided walking spice tour passing through spice plantations and villages – a chance to experience a little of cultural life and see how workers climb trees and seek out specific plants.

Day 10 Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – end of trip

This morning explore historic Stone Town before hopping on an afternoon ferry back to Dar es Salaam. Stone Town represents the historic centre of Zanzibar Town and is a must see for those with an interest in history, culture and the unique architecture of the historic port.
