Itinerary

Day 1&2 Kabalega Resort Hotel, for Murchison Falls & chimp tracking

From Kampala, make our way to the Murchison Falls National Park. The Murchison Falls, also referred to as the Kabaraga Falls, is a waterfall found on the course of the great Nile and located within the Murchison National Park and our base for 2nights. Budongo Forest is the largest mahogany forest in East Africa and home to chimp families, the focal point of our stay here. A guided chimp trek through the forest takes us in search of these lively primates – they may be spotted swinging through the trees or perhaps foraging or resting on the forest floor. A boat cruise along the river and a game drive in Murchison Falls National Park is also included to spot some of the game found here.

Day 3 Leopard Rest Camp, Lake Mburo

We make our way to Lake Mburo National Park, a region of woodland interspersed with rocky ridges and forested gorges. Among the lakes lies Lake Mburo, it’s one of the smallest of Uganda’s savannah parks but manages to rack up a signifcant 350 bird species, along with game such as leopard, buffalo, hyena and zebra.

Day 4–6 Lake Bunyonyi Overland Resort – Gorilla tracking

Onward to Lake Bunyonyi and our time here will be flexible as the main highlight of our time here is tracking mountain gorillas – not only is this a world–class wildlife activity, but the permit fees go directly to their protection. A close–up encounter with one of these great primates will be unforgettable. During our stay we visit Nyombi Village, a Pygmy village reached by motor boat from Bunyonyi Resort and the opportunity to learn about the lives and culture of the Pygmies

Day 7 Kampala

Today make the long journey back to Uganda’s capital, Kampala. Your tour will come to an end upon arrival in Kampala.
