We depart from Johannesburg early and our transfer takes us through the wide–open spaces of the Highveld, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld area to Kruger and later this afternoon head out for our first game drive in the southern sector of the park
We rise early and depart on a morning drive just after the sun has risen in the hope of finding some of the nocturnal and diurnal animals before they settle down for the day, this is often the most active time for most predators, both big and small. With the sun slowly climbing higher above the savannah, we experience all that the park has to offer, including searching for the Big 5 and the incredible wealth of flora, birds and smaller mammals that make the Kruger Park unique. We return to base for brunch and later in the afternoon head out for a further game drive in the open vehicle. South Kruger is renowned for rhino and lion
An early morning departure as you transfer to one of the world–renowned Private Reserves adjacent to Kruger. Thanks to a well–planned and managed habituation process, animals and birds in the reserve have become used to having the game drive vehicles in close proximity, without feeling threatened. This allows us to get really close to them and forms part of the appeal of Private Game Reserves – it is incredible to see cheetah or leopard at such close quarters! They are also home to Big 5, along with plenty of plains game, giraffe, and a wide range of bird species. Most private reserves include 2 game drives per day and the chance to explore the reserve searching for some of the many animals found here before returning to beautiful lodge surroundings.
An early wake–up call and coffee signals the start of your last safari of this journey. One last opportunity to experience the magic that only the African Bush can offer before returning to Johannesburg arriving late in the afternoon.edit me
