Departing from Windhoek this morning, we travel north to Etosha aiming to arrive at Anderson Gate by mid–afternoon. Etosha National Park, one of the largest game parks in Africa and Namibia’s premier game viewing destination. With over 114 mammal species including elephant, lion, leopard and more than 700 black rhino it lives up to its reputation as one of the best African game reserves.
Today is spent game driving as we head visit many of the waterholes and perhaps stopping at Etosha Pan originally a vast lake and now a shimmering bowl of salt where mirages and dust devils rise. We leave the park just prior to sunset
This morning, we leave our accommodation behind as we make our way into Damaraland, a land of dramatic landscapes. We will stop near to Namibia’s highest mountain – Brandberg to meet some of the local Himba and Herero ladies who sell their hand–crafted goods ideal for gifts and a trade for a photo! As we reach the coast, we’ll stop at a shipwreck near to Henties Bay – perfectly located close to the shore before driving south along the gravel plains of the Skeleton Coast arriving at Swakopmund where you are dropped at your accommodation (not included). Note you can extend this tour or add further accommodation
