Overnight Camping Safari 2010 Rates US$210/person Departure from Livingstone at 6:45am daily (minimum 2 pax) Return to Livingstone approx 10am This is not your usual camping trip! We base this safari on a full-on game experience with all of the perks of a luxurious night in the African bush. After crossing the border to Botswana, we depart on our morning river cruise for our first glimpse of the prolific game available in Chobe National Park. We slowly meander along the river until we reach our camp where a hearty lunch will already be prepared and waiting. After a bit of relaxing, we climb into our safari vehicle for an afternoon game drive. Here we have an excellent opportunity to see the elephants that this park is famous for as well as buffalo, kudu, impala, warthog, lions and much more! Sundowner drinks will be enjoyed overlooking the beautiful islands and river network and then an excellent bush dinner will be prepared by your guides and camp cook. The night is spend chatting around the campfire and listening to the sounds of Africa before sleeping in pre-erected canvas safari tents, complete with duvets and camp mattresses. It’s an early rise the following morning for our last game drive of the trip and our return to Zambia. All meals, coffee, tea and mineral water are provided and you will have the opportunity to buy further drinks before departure.
OPTION TWO - TWO DAY ONE NIGHT SAFARI
The most popular trip to date—2010 Cost USD 260 Day one— 08h30 guests are met at Kazungula by their guide and are escorted through Immigration formalities. There is an opportunity to do any last minute shopping in Kasane, as there are no shops within the Park. A short briefing will follow on some pertinent facts such as safety, and some regional information. At 09h30 guests board the boat and commence a 3 hour boat cruise into the Chobe National park. The river cruise is considered one of the highlights of the trip, as one gets the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, and of course scores of elephant and cape buffalo that make their way down to the river to quench their thirst. The boat cruise ends at “White Sands” at 12h30 where your safari guide will be waiting to do a game drive to your “wilderness” campsite for lunch. After a hearty lunch and settling in to your tents, you have tea, and depart on an afternoon game drive—this being the best time to see Chobe’s large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink. Return to camp shortly after sunset for drinks around the camp fire and dinner Day two - guests are woken at dawn with warm water being poured into their basins and a friendly Botswana "dumela" (goody day). After a quick cup of tea or coffee and a light breakfast, you head off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats as they are still active at this time, and chances of seeing them are good. Around mid-late morning guests return to camp for a delicious bush brunch, and an opportunity to take a refreshing shower. After packing up leave camp on the last 3hour activity and be dropped off in Kasane/Kagangula at 16h30
Luxury Overnight Chobe Trip 2010 Rates US$220/person
Departure from Livingstone at 645am daily (minimum of 2 pax) Return to Livingstone the following morning approx 10am.
An excellent opportunity to treat yourself with our amazing luxury package! We leave Livingstone at 6:45am and depart for the one hour drive to Kazangula/Botswana border. We then cross the mighty Zambezi via the rickety old pontoon ferry... a truly African experience! You are then swept away for a morning cruise along the Chobe River where you will have the opportunity to see the prolific birdlife of the area as well plenty of hippos. After a buffet lunch overlooking the river we depart for our afternoon game drive through the park. Lodging is in en-suite luxury safari tents, all meals are included as well as mineral water and wine with dinner. But that’s not all… there is also a private waterhole which is frequented by elephants, kudu, bush buck, impala, warthogs etc. So you can toast the night away with glass of wine and some Ele’s! We will pick you up from the pontoon at 8:30am the following morning.

When the day starts to cool off another afternoon game drive follows tea, and good sightings are revisited or areas as yet unexplored are visited. Chobe National Park has a wide variety of game—the cats and large herbivores such as elephant and buffalo being a highlight, but rarer game such as puku and roan antelope along with many more common antelope can be viewed here. Return to camp after sunset for a reflective fireside chat. Dinner follows, as always accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night. Day three—after another “dumela” dawn awakening and breakfast, guests leave the national park . This last drive may even prove to be the best and will with the others remain etched in memory as a truly great African experience. Guests are dropped off in Kasane/Kazungula at 08h30.
