Mid-Range Accommodation In Kasane for Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park takes its name from the Chobe River and is a park of around 10,700km.  The park is split into regions and we have concentrated on the north - close to Kasane as it's particularly easy for access to/from the Namibia border at Ngoma and also the river crossing of Kazangula (for Zambia as well as Zimbabwe).  The famous Chobe River is also the border for Botswana and Namibia and its here that huge herds of buffalo, elephant and water dependent animals such as hippo, crocs and antelope converge.  As you move away from the river front and flood plains, there's riverine forest that includes Rhodesian teak, acacia's, jackalberry and many others.  Chobe really is quite unique particularly if you have come from the dry deserts of Namibia.

Chobe Safari Lodge

A firm favourite in Kasane and this lodge has recently undergone extensive renovation work.  There is now a large dining and lounge area overlooking the Chobe River, the famous bar is still on a deck by the rivers edge and there's the grassy banks where warthogs wander.  There's a choice of rooms from the new safari rooms, to the rondavels, river rooms and a small campsite (shared ablutions).  Activities include game viewing at Chobe - a unique experience into Chobe National Park, which hosts the largest concentration of wildlife in southern Africa.  Game drives into the Chobe National Park depart three times daily. Alternatively, choose a full day’s game drive, including picnic lunch. In addition there are boat cruises, safari walks, fishing as well as a beauty spa.

Garden Lodge

This small family run lodge has just eight bedrooms (4 doubles and 4 family size), each with its own bathroom and private verandah overlooking the Chobe River. It's truly a garden lodge. The combination of unlimited water and constant sunshine allows hibiscus, frangipani, bougainvillea, banana and paw paw to grow in profusion in the garden and birds are attracted to the flowers and fruits.  The lounge and dining room are furnished in teak and wicker. All decor comes from Botswana or one of the surrounding countries. Guests have the choice of sitting inside under the thatched roof or outside by the swimming pool.  Dinner is served on a long table allowing guests to share stories and there's a bar upstairs overlooking the river.  Activities of course, include boat cruises, game drives into Chobe, fishing and village excursions.
