Day 1 The Elegant Guesthouse, Windhoek - 1night Upon arrival from your International flight from London, you will be collected at the airport and transferred to Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia. From your base you’ll have the chance to relax from your flight or alternatively explore the city and see some of the sights, perhaps collect a few last minute items for your safari. Overnight in double room with en-suite facilities and dinner at your own expense at the restaurant or in one of the many famous restaurants in the city
Day 2 Intu Africa Zebra Lodge, Kalahari Basin - 1night A relaxing start to the day and then your guide will collect you after breakfast to depart on your safari. We head into the Kalahari Basin an incredible fossil desert and your guide will provide a roadside lunch along the way. Intu Afrika Kalahari Private Game Reserve is a 10 000 ha wildlife sanctuary located in the southwestern region of the Kalahari, along the upper reaches of the Auob river system of Namibia. Lofty ancient parallel red dunes sparsely covered by unique vegetation characterize the expanse of the reserve. Grassy plains peppered with centuries old camel thorn trees commonly known as “dune streets” or valleys separate the dunes providing refuge for diverse animal and bird life indigenous to the Kalahari. This afternoon you can relax by the pool or perhaps you may choose to join an optional activity, where you can find out about the predator re-introduction programme – perhaps even see some Kalahari Desert lions, or take a walk in the Kalahari with a bushman tracker and learn his desert survival secrets and hear the history of the ancient san people. Day 3&4 Canon Village, Fish River Canyon - 2nights accommodation Today we head south and drive close to Fish River Canyon, reputable to be the second largest canyon in the world. The lodge, where we will spend the next two nights, is situated just outside the National Park and we can enjoy walks or horse riding on the land. Your guide will drive into the park to visit the viewpoints and stare in wonder at the scale of the canyon to appreciate the scale and beauty of the incredible canyon, we’ll enjoy lunch inside the park before returning to the lodge later. You may also choose to enjoy optional activities such as a scenic flight over the canyon. (BLD)
Day 5&6 Klein Aus Vista -for Luderitz/Kolmanskop Ghost Town - 2nights accommodation Onward to one of the best kept secrets of Namibia. Klein Aus is a truly beautiful spot, situated on the edge of the desert with endless views of the open plains and mountains and where we are based for two nights. You may choose to relax, enjoy a self-guided hike in the Aus Mountains, or perhaps visit the wild horses of Namib, one of the only 2 or 3 wild herd of horses and be amazed at how they survive in this harsh environment. The following day your guide will take you to visit Kolmanskop Ghost Town, once famous for collecting diamonds by full moonlight and trading in diamonds – an incredible 5million carats of diamonds were mined in just 4 years. Now a ghost town the sand has encroached into the houses though you can still see much of how the people lived 100 years ago. We will also visit the coastline, see some penguins and seals before returning to Klein Aus (BLD)

Day 7&8 Desert Homestead for Sossusvlei & Namib Naukluft National Park - 2nights accommodation Heading north, this is an ideal location to be based for the next two nights, as we are centrally located. From here we’re just 30kms from the Sesriem gate and the entrance to the Namib Naukluft park. Sossusvlei is located in the park and where we find the incredible sand sea of Namibia. Reputed to be the oldest desert in the world and have some of the highest sand dunes, it’s a terrific place to start exploring. Your guide will drive you to visit this region early in the morning to explore the dunes and the surrounding area and appreciate the beauty and changing colours of the dunes from harsh shadows to soft, pastel hues and the dramatic Dead Vlei – one of the most photographed regions in the country before returning to the lodge later that afternoon. You can also enjoy horse riding at the Homestead and a sunset ride is a great way to round off the day. The lodge has individual chalets, each with en suite facilities and private verandah overlooking the mountains and desert. The main area is thatched and set on a kopjie with impressive views. There is a swimming pool, dining and lounge area allowing plenty of space to relax (BLD)
Day 9 Erongo Wilderness Lodge - 1night accommodation We’ll depart after breakfast and head to the Erongo Mountains – it will be quite a long drive today so we will need to depart immediately after breakfast. Here we’re based on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis with an activity as well as coffee and cake in the afternoon. Erongo has resident black eagles, as well as the following species -. These include both Namibian and South African endemics such as: Hartlaub's Francolin, Redbilled Francolin, Ruppell's Parrot, Rosyfaced Lovebird, Monteiro's Hornbill, Carp's Black Tit, Damara Rockrunner, Pririt Batis, Whitetailed Shrike, Violet-eared Waxbill, and the Redheaded Finch. The abundance of water around the lodge in what is an otherwise dry area, also make it a haven for Plumcoloured Starlings, Melba Finches, Rock Kestrels, Masked Weavers, Rock Buntings, Whitebellied Sunbirds and a whole host of others. The chalets offer terrific views and the Erongo region is one of the most dramatic and ecologically diverse areas in Namibia. (BLD)

Day 10&11 Erindi Game Reserve - 2nights fully inclusive (excluding drinks) Today is a short drive for our final 2 nights on the road and onto Erindi Game Reserve. A private reserve of around 90,000ha that’s full of enticing game such as elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah and even endangered wild dog, not forgetting hippo and crocodiles. A great opportunity to enjoy some wonderful game viewing and a complete contrast to the incredible landscapes that you have witnessed. We will be able to enjoy activities in the morning and afternoon, heading off in search of some of species of game and birds that wander freely and still have time to relax and reflect on the trip. Sit by the swimming pool or by your room overlooking a floodlit waterhole and watch the game come to quench their thirst. This lodge opened in 2008 and each of the rooms is spacious with plenty of attention to detail. (BLD)
Day 12 Flight We return to Windhoek where you will be dropped at the airport in time for your onward flight (B)
