Day 1 Desert Camp, nr Namib Naukluft Park - 1night accommodation only Upon arrival at the Windhoek International (Hosea Kutako) Airport on your early morning flight, depending on the car hire company, you will either collect your vehicle from the airport or be transferred into the city where you will then pick the vehicle up and drive via Rehoboth to the amazing Namib Naukluft Park, arriving at Desert Camp early afternoon. It is in a superb location, just 3km from the park gate and offers excellent value for money. Overnight is based in twin share, permanent style tents with en-suite bathroom, kitchenette facilities and a small, private wooden deck with bench and braai facilities – self catering. There is also a swimming pool and bar to relax around. Should you not feel like self-catering you can have your meals at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge

Day 2 Desert Camp, nr Namib Naukluft Park - 1night accommodation only Recommend dawn departure from camp to arrive at the park gate for sunrise, this is only about 3kms away, collect your entry permit and from here drive through to the dune sea. Explore this unique area on foot before heading into Dead Vlei with its large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees, contrasting with a backdrop of huge dunes with their ever-changing colours. Please note the last 5kms section is 4x4 and as many people get stuck we do recommend you walk or take the shuttle and avoid any possible damage to the vehicle. Overnight in a twin share permanent tent. Accommodation only as above.

Day 3 Brigadoon Guesthouse, Swakopmund - 1night bed & breakfast Leave early this morning for your drive to Swakopmund, heading across the Gaub and Kuiseb passes towards Walvis Bay. You may like to stop here and take a look at the lagoon, a RAMSAR protected wetland site, home to many different aquatic birds such as flamingo, pelicans, cormorant, avocets, the endemic Damara tern and many more. Should you arrive early enough you may have time to take part in one of the optional activities such as an afternoon scenic flight over the dunes of Sossusvlei, to the coast to see shipwrecks, old diamond mines, dunes falling into the ocean as well as seal colonies, flamingos etc. This flight really gives a different perspective of the area you have already seen from land. Alternatively, you can enjoy quad biking, tandem sky diving etc. Overnight is in a twin/double room on a bed and breakfast basis, all other meals will be at client's expense. |
|
Day 4 Windhoek This morning enjoy this coastal town, joining any optional activities such as sand boarding, fishing or a dolphin cruise before driving back to Windhoek in the afternoon, where you return your rental vehicle and proceed with your onward travel. End of services
