A perfect introduction to those with limited time and wanting to see one of the main highlights Namibia has to offer. Naturally, it can be combined with other trips to enjoy and experience more of Namibia

Day 1 Desert Camp, nr Sesriem
Upon arrival in Windhoek (early morning flight arrival) you can collect your hire car and drive via Rehoboth and Naukluft arriving at Desert camp early afternoon. Overnight in twin share permanent style tents with en suite facilities and private deck. The camp also has a swimming pool and bar to relax around. Accommodation only. Should you not feel like self-catering you can have your meals at Sossusvlei Lodge, which is located just 3kms down the road outside the entrance to the Namib Naukluft National Park and entrance to Sesriem and the dune sea of Sossusvlei. Re drive - There is a more scenic route via Gamsberg Pass if you prefer.

Day 2 Desert Camp, nr Sesriem
Recommend dawn departure from camp to arrive at the park gate for sunrise, this is only about 3kms away. Collect entry permit – alternatively, you may wish to pay and collect this on the day of arrival to save time in the morning. Explore this unique area on foot before heading into Dead Vlei with its large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees, contrasting with a backdrop of huge dunes with their ever-changing colours. You can either walk or take the 4x4 shuttle back to your vehicle. Please note the last 5kms section is 4x4 only so you will have to leave your vehicle in the 2x4 car park. Overnight in twin share permanent tents. Accommodation only as above

Day 3 Bed and Breakfast, Swakopmund
Leave early this morning for your drive to Swakopmund. Heading across the Gaub and Kuiseb passes towards Walvis Bay. You may like to stop here and take a look at the lagoon, a RAMSAR protected wetland site, home to many different aquatic birds such as flamingo, pelicans, cormorant, avocets, the endemic damara tern and many more. You can also see the nearby salt farms, alternatively you may wish to head straight to Swakopmund. Should you arrive early enough you may have time to do one of the optional activities such as an afternoon scenic flight over the dunes of Sossusvlei, to the coast to see shipwrecks, old diamond mines, dunes falling into the ocean as well as seal colonies, flamingos etc. This flight really gives a different perspective of the area you have already seen from land. Alternatively, you can enjoy quad biking, tandem skying etc. Accommodation is in a double/twin room with en-suite bathroom, close to the centre of town. Bed and breakfast only.

Day 4 Windhoek
This morning enjoy this coastal town, joining any optional activities such as sand boarding, fishing or a dolphin cruise before driving back to Windhoek in the afternoon. Arrive in Windhoek where you can return your hire car and proceed with your onward travel.
