Okonjima - Africat Foundation

Not only is Okonjima a luxury lodge, but it is also home to The AfriCat Foundation, a non-profit organisation, committed to long-term conservation of Namibia's large carnivores, especially cheetahs and leopards, and visit to Okonjima will give you an opportunity to witness some of AfriCat's work.

Okonjima is halfway between Windhoek and Etosha National Park.

Okonjima offers 10 comfortable double rooms at the Main Camp and 8 African-style chalets at the Okonjima Luxury Bush Camp. In addition, there are 3 luxury, en-suite double tents for guides and pilots.

Also available is the ultimate luxury in the form of the Okonjima Villa, famous for hosting Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. It offers a luxurious private villa with a personal host, chef, guide and game-drive/viewing vehicle.

Okonjima offers cheetah radio tracking on foot in the rehabilitation area. Orphaned cheetah viewing is included in the daily activities. Leopards are monitored daily and radio-tracked from game-viewing vehicles - giving guests a chance to watch these magnificent predators from the safety of a hide or from the vehicle, hunting for themselves. Other activities: Bushman Trail and Birding.

Okonjima Bush Suite
This select, private suite is located just 500m from Bush Camp yet still offers privacy and views across the veldt. It has a private kitchen, two luxury en-suite rooms each with a bath and in-outside showers, two queen size beds per room, one of which rolls out onto the terrace, air conditioning and heating. Internet facilities are on site and the suite also has its own personal host, chef, guide and game-viewing vehicle. However, meals can be taken at Bush Camp if you prefer.

Okonjima Villa
The Villa is located in on a more remote part of the Okonjima reserve offering privacy and seclusion to the more discerning visitor or providing an ideal "getaway from it all" spot for a group of friends or family. With an infinity pool, wooden deck with sun loungers, all overlooking a waterhole, you really need a couple of days to not enjoy the activities on offer but also relax. The villa has a private kitchen, two luxury en-suite rooms and two suits - all with a bath as well as insinde and outside showers, a king-size bed that rolls out onto the terrace, air-condition and heating facilities, internet connection etc. The Villa has its own personal host, chef, guide and game-drive vehicle. The Villa sleeps upto 10 people
