Elisenheim Horse Ride Sleepout - 2 Day

This horse riding trip is geared towards experienced riders and those with limited time available.  Elisenheim is a Guest Farm located just outside of Windhoek and the riding around the hills and mountains is spectacular.

Day 1

The ride departs in the afternoon.  Initially you will be matched with your horse and then head out into the veldt and mountains.  You'll enjoy a sunset ride (complete with sundowner drinks) and as the stars shimmer in the sky amble your way back letting the horses pick their trail.  You'll enjoy a home cooked dinner in the lodge (or alternatively a braai) and overnight in a twin bedded room with en suite.  The lodge has a pool so for the guests arriving around lunch time you'll be able to sit and relax before heading out for the ride.  Length of afternoon ride is approx 2.5hours.

Day 2
Coffee and rusks get you going in the morning before you climb back aboard your horse and heading out for a mountain breakfast ride.  You'll follow tracks up mountains and steep hills enjoying long canters as well as riding through dry river beds, gorges and grassy plains.  Landscape is varied and you'll ascend to around 2100m with great views across the distant city but you'll feel at one with nature and in the middle of the bush.  A champagne breakfast will be served at the top of one of the mountains with stunning vistas before returning to the lodge.  Length of morning ride is approx 5 hours

"We would like to say a big thank you for the 4 hour champagne breakfast ride we enjoyed last week - highly recommended for any intermediate or advanced rider.
We had breath taking views of Windhoek and its surroundings with exhilirating canters up stretches of steep hills. The horses are well trained and looked after - Kind in nature and sure footed - ideal for those conditions.
Its definately an unforgetable experience and the best way to explore the nearby Eros mountains. We had a wonderful time, thanks Sam."
From Lauren and Martin - June 08 - joining the morning ride
