6 Day Dunes and Wildlife Scheduled Accommodated Safari - Silver Level 

For those clients with limited time available, this combination of our 3 days Sossusvlei Express & 3 Day Etosha Express is the perfect choice. Departs every Tuesday with a minumum of 2 people.  Overnight in lodges located just outside both Namib Naukluft National Park and Etosha National Park and includes 1 night at Swakopmund in between, you’ll be able to experience the amazing sand dune sea of the Namib and Sossusvlei region as well as Etosha National Park, renowned as one of the best game reserves in Africa.


Day 1    Lodge, near Etosha National Park - 1 night 
We depart from Chameleon Backpackers Lodge, Windhoek 08h30. We stop briefly at Otjiwarongo then enjoy a  light lunch en-route before entering Etosha National Park through Anderson Gate, we visit some of the closer waterholes looking for predators as well as zebra. giraffe, elephant and rhino.  We arrive at our lodge located just outside Etosha just before sunset. Dinner is prepared by your guide and an early night is recommended.  (L,D).

Day 2    Lodge, near Etosha National Park - 1 night 
We depart from our lodge at sunrise to be the first at the gate to the park and game drive until mid morning when we will stop for a light breakfast.  We visit many waterholes and drive half way across the park in our quest to find the big 4 as well as all the plains game arriving at Halali for a rest during the hottest part of the day. Here your guide will prepare you a delicious lunch whilst you have a dip in the pool or relax by the camp waterhole.  Continuing after lunch you will visit the mighty Etosha Pan and have the experience of walking on the pan to feel the immenseness of this 4500 sq km saltpan (seasonal).  We will then continue back to Okaukuejo calling into some well-known waterholes and leave the park prior to sunset.  Dinner is prepared by your guide and another early night is recommended. Day 3    Swakopmund - 1 night
Early morning leisurely breakfast before departing for Swakopmund via Outjo and Omaruru, your guide will give you a roadside lunch and we will arrive in Swakopmund early afternoon.  Located on the cold Atlantic Ocean, Swakopmund boasts many cafes where you can enjoy coffee and cake, or just explore this quaint seaside town on foot. Overnight accommodation at Dunedin Star on a twin share basis, evening meal at own expense. (BL)
 

Day 4    Lodge, near Sesriem - 1 night

This morning after breakfast we highly recommend a visit to the Museum or Aquarium(optional and unguided) and for the adrenalin junkies a 2 hour quad bike experience in the dunes should get your  pulse racing. Departure from Swakopmund at 12h00 noon (summer time) or 11h00 (winter time). Driving through the Namib Desert via the Kuiseb Pass and Solitaire we arrive at our camp late afternoon and have a chance to relax and enjoy the views before taking a short walk for sunset looking over the Naukluft mountain range. Overnight in twin rooms/permanent tents with en-suite bathroom facilities.  Pool and bar available. Dinner prepared by your guide. (D)

Day 5    Lodge, Near Sesriem - 1 night
Dawn departure from camp to arrive at the park gate for sunrise.  We drive down an ancient river bed surrounded by towering dunes to the 2x4 parking (around 55kms) and take a 4x4 shuttle into the Sossusvlei area to appreciate the beauty of this place in early morning light and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the region. We explore this unique area on foot before heading into Dead Vlei with its large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees, contrasting with a backdrop of huge dunes with their ever-changing colours. We can either walk or take the 4x4 shuttle back to our vehicle. As we drive back to our accommodation we will stop at the famous Dune 45 and climb this dune if we wish or just wander around the base.  We return to Sesriem and visit the nearby Sesriem Canyon, one of the few permanent water sources before arriving back at our lodge late afternoon to watch the sunset over this spectacular desert. Overnight in twin share rooms/ permanent tents with en-suite bathrooms. Dinner prepared by your guide.  (BLD)

Day 6    Windhoek - End of tour
After a leisurely breakfast we return to Windhoek via Bullsport and Rehoboth.  We arrive prior to lunchtime where you will be dropped at your accommodation or airport transfers can be arranged by the Chameleon office with prior notice at own expense. (B)

Price excludes: Personal travel insurance - this is compulsory; flights; visas; snacks/drinks; items of a personal nature; optional activities;

PLEASE NOTE  the itinerary above is a guideline only and whilst we try to adhere to it there may be circumstances when it may change – for example weather and/or road conditions, seasonal daylight hours etc. Overnight stops on occasion may be altered from those indicated

The accommodation provided is on a twin share basis in safari style permanent tents or twin rooms with en-suite bathroom facilities and self catering kitchen facilities where your guide will provide you with your meals.  The Etosha lodge is located within 25km of the Anderson gate on the western side of Etosha National Park and the Sesriem Lodge is within 90km of the Namib/Naukluft entrance at Sesriem, however our preferred accommodation is located within 5 km of both National Parks. The Etosha sector of this safari does not visit Namutoni Camp.  Sleeping bags or bath towels are not necessary but please bring swim wear and pool towels, especially during the summer months
