Damaraland is one of the most stunning regions in Namibia. With incredible landscapes that include granite mountains and kopjies, ancient lava fields and some of the most bizarre plant life you can almost expect to see a dinasaur appear around the corner. It is also home to some amazing rock etchings and paintings and is at the heart of some of Namibia's most ancient history and beginnings for early man. Top this with a sparse population and a wilderness that is home to desert adapted elephant and the last free-roaming black rhino it's an area that should be included in every itinerary.
Heading further north into the depths of little trodden lands lies Purros, Epupa Falls and the Skeleton Coast. Not for the faint-hearted, the remoteness and simple living along with spectacular scenery adds a further dimension to the travel itinerary. Here you find the Skeleton Coast National Park, home to wrecks and relics of the past. The far north will take you to the river bordering Angola and a lifeline of pure water, along with the Epupa Falls. Not forgetting the mountain ranges with lodges nestled amongst them. It's in this region that the statuesque Himba tribe live, mostly still living a traditional lifestyle, along with desert adapted elephant, mountain zebra, giraffe, oryx and desert lion...
