Xakanaxa Camp - the authentic jewel of the Okavango is located in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp is set on the banks of the pristine Khwai River that overlooks the Xakanaxa Lagoon. Accommodation for 24 guests is in 12 spacious and tastefully furnished tents with twin or double beds and en suite showers, hand basins and toilet facilities. Situated on the fringes of the lagoon, each tented suite has a private viewing deck with comfortable loungers. Volunteer Programme - Elephant & Human Relations
Join this great volunteer programme based in the heart of Damaraland - and help conserve Namibia's Desert Elephants - projects run every two weeks throughout the year and first project is on 30th January.
Volunteers build water point protection walls during week one and in week two assist EHRA trackers on a 4 day elephant patrol into Damaraland. Over 800 people from all over the world and all ages have volunteered since the project began in 2003 and have helped build over 105 protection walls for local communities. There is an amazing base camp on the Ugab River and you will get the rare chance to sleep wild, cook over open fires and spend 2 weeks or more with other intersting and like minded people!
