A fly in safari in Botswana for those more travellers with the opportunity to see many of the fantastic parks that Botswana has to offer including Moremi and Chobe, finishing at the incredible Victoria Falls, a Natural Wonder of the World.

Day 1   Maun
Today arrive in Maun where your guide will meet you and escort you to a campsite on the banks of the Thamalakane River.  This afternoon your guide will brief you on the procedures for the next four days and after lunch you will have the afternoon free to explore Maun or relax at the pool.  This evening we enjoy dinner at a restaurant - at your own expense

Day 2-3 Okavango Delta – Oddballs Camp
This morning you will be transferred to Maun airport where you fly to Chiefs Island in the Okavango Delta for two nights stay at a permanent campsite. Situated on the edge of Chief's Island, deep in the heart of the Okavango Delta, the camp is accessible by light aircraft only. On arrival you will be met at the airstrip and welcomed to the island. Accommodation is in dome tents, fully equipped with foam mattresses and bedding, and set on elevated wooden decks shaded by reed shelters. These tents are the same tents used by most mobile operators in Botswana. There are beautiful outdoor showers and ablutions are shared. The bar and lounge areas have comfortable seating, and a raised viewing deck overlooks the sweep of the delta – the perfect place to watch the sun set over the palms, and view whatever wildlife may be visiting. Meals are simple, yet wholesome and enjoyed in the main complex. Your activities will be led by your own professional guide – a man born and bred in the local area (with a maximum of two guests per guide). He has a mokoro (dug-out canoe) in which he will take you to nearby islands, where you will walk to view game and the spectacular landscape that is the Okavango. It might also be possible to visit his village, meet the elders and perhaps his family. Game walks on the surrounding islands allow you the opportunity to observe the smaller creatures and animal tracks, scents and sounds that are overlooked when on a game drive and at the same time keeping a careful lookout for lion, elephant, buffalo any the numerous smaller animal species and birds that proliferate in the Delta. It’s an incredible way to explore the land and appreciate the wonder that nature has to offer. The Delta is a wilderness lagoon covering around 16,000km sq and contains about 95% of surface water in Botswana – no wonder it’s such a life source for man and animal alike in a land that is mainly desert. Here, amongst the streams, papyrus-fringed shores, lily-covered ponds and islands is a myriad of life. (BLD)

Day 4 Maun
After breakfast fly back to Maun. On returning to town you are free to continue with your travels or you may choose to join one of the camping trips heading into the heart of Moremi Game Reserve, Savute, etc (B)

General notes
The itinerary is flexible and night stops may vary, it may be done in the reverse direction at times.

Please note that this itinerary is geared for the adventure and budget style traveller, this is not a luxury itinerary and whilst we do everything to ensure the itinerary is run in accordance to what is indicated, weather conditions etc may affect the above.  Remember you are travelling in Africa and not all standards are the same as your home country.  A flexible approach and sense of humour is vital! 

For those of you who wish to see and do everything but just can’t find the time, we have some flexible alternatives.

Accommodation is in custom designed dome safari tents and foam mattresses are provided, you bring your own sleeping bag. All other camping equipment is provided.

You are be accompanied by a professional, registered safari guide and transport in the parks is in a custom designed 4x4 safari vehicle.
