| 5 Day Green Desert Safari - Okavango Delta |
|
To many, the Okavango Delta is one of the many reasons to visit Southern Africa and Botswana. The Delta is slap bang in the centre of Southern Africa’s driest and flattest arid region, and the water of the Okavango River travels southeast for five months across hundreds of kilometres.. Starting in the Angolan highlands in summer, the water is then squeezed through geological fault lines near the Caprivi Strip, then spreads out across 20 000 square kilometres, a huge fan of surface water seeping into the red detritus of the Kalahari Desert to form this amazing ecosystem. The Delta attracts many species of game, birds as well of course, the two legged homosapien. This trip starts in Maun, takes you into the heart of the Delta visiting two camps before returning to Maun.

The Okavango is an immense river that never meets the sea. Instead, its crystal clear waters spread across the Kalahari Desert, forming Africa 's largest wetland wonder. The Delta is an abundant oasis amid the vast plains and pans of the desert that covers most of Southern Africa . Various small private lounge areas have been created for comfort, privacy and spaciousness. Within the tree line you will find a nice shaded decked area that leads to the pool.
