Great Parks of Botswana -10 days Scheduled Camping Safari-Silver Level

A camping safari in Botswana for those more budget conscious travellers with the opportunity to see many of the fantastic parks that Botswana has to offer including Moremi, Chobe, and finishing at Victoria Falls, one of the Natural Wonders of the World!

Day 1 Maun
This morning your guide will meet you and escort you to a campsite on the banks of the Thamalakane River.  This afternoon your guide will brief you on the procedures for the next ten days and after lunch you will have the afternoon free to explore Maun or relax at the pool. This evening we enjoy supper at a restaurant.  (Own cost). Overnight camping only.

Day 2-3  Moremi Game Reserve
After breakfast we head North for Moremi, situated on the eastern side of the Okavango Delta.  We will spend two nights in Moremi as we game drive around the reserve in search of leopard, lion, elephant, buffalo, antelope, etc.  We explore the reserve extensively and traverse areas of savannah, mopane forests, acacia scrubland and the vast reed beds where fingers of the delta flow deep into the reserve.  Each area hosting prolific and diverse animal and birdlife.   Dinners are prepared over the campfire as we listen to the animal noises drifting in out of the dark and you can expect to be lulled to sleep by a symphony of screeches and clicks from cicadas and reed frogs and the occasional roar of a lion or whoop of a hyaena.   (BLD)

Day 4-6  Chobe National Park
We drive further north to Chobe where we camp for two nights  at Savuti – a favourite hunting ground of lion and hyena; wild dog and cheetah, attracted there by the annual wildebeest and zebra migrations.  This area attracts plains animals in their thousands; to breed and die in the hot grasslands.   The next day we safari north to a campsite on the banks of the Chobe River, an area boasting one of the largest elephant populations in Africa.  Game viewing by road or river is fantastic.  Most afternoons large herds of thirsty elephant descend on the river in a frenzy of muddy bath time joy.

On Day 6 we drive further north through the Chobe National Park to camp at Ihaha on the banks of the Chobe River.
We enjoy an afternoon game drive along the Chobe River bank, seeking the vast herds of elephant and buffalo that come down to the river to drink daily, especially in the dry season. We have a good chance of encountering one pride of lion that prey specifically on the buffalo – an unusual trait for lion to generally have. Hippo and crocodile abound in the river and we can watch and listen to their calls and movements (BLD)

Day 7   Kasane
We camp on the banks of the Chobe at Kasane, situated at the eastern gate of the Reserve.  This afternoon we enjoy a sunset game viewing cruise on the Chobe River  enjoying cool sundowners as we drift along watching the game coming down to the river for their evening drink.  We will enjoy a restaurant supper this night   (lunch and dinner at own expense). (B)
