Many people are familiar with the infamous Jack's Camp. The history goes - while on a trapping expedition to the Makgadikgadi Pans during the 60's, Jack Bousfield stumbled upona site that so captured his imagination that he set up camp under an acacia with the unshakeable expectations that others would feel the same...the choice of such a strikinng locale, owed much to his original taste ofr the savage beauty of a forgotten Africa where he lived. The camp was renovated in 2003 and nowadays there are 10 green roomy and stylish canvas tents with en-suite bathrooms as well as indoor and outdoor showers (there's nothing quite like an outdoor shower to gaze at the sky and feel the breeze on the skin). It's classical African style - with Persian rugs underfoot and cotton sheets on each bed to contrast again the harshness of the region. During the wet season the land transforms and flamingos and other migratory birds appear as if out of nowhere... herds of zebras and wildebeest are drawn by lush grass and no far behind are the predators. Activities include game drives, quad biking and walks - the guides have a complete passion for their work and team up with local Zu/’hoasi Bushmen who guide the guests on morning walks and drives.
Certainly a stay at Jack's Camp is different from anything you will have, or ever will experience again...
